The last wednesday

jump high over fire

ISO 1600 f/5.6 1/100s 55mm

Last night was “Charshanbe Souri” in Iran, an special festival a night before the last wednesday of the Iranian year. People use to jump the fire and give candy to kids on the door (something like Halloween.) I remember from 10-15 years ago, the ceremony have reformed to a night of drinking and dancing on the street! Although these acts are illegal in Iran, nobody can’t stop young people to get party.

It’s a saying that jumping over fire will remove illness and evil, before starting the new year.

(Find more in Wikipedia,

and I have to appreciate my friend Saeed, who jumped high for this frame!)
